(11/20) Once upon a time, a health insurer designated all its salespeople as independent contractors--a practice it said is typical in the insurance industry. But a group of 14 former sales managers, whose job title had been "sales leader," sued for overtime pay. They argued that they had been employees under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), not contractors.
